Mission Statement
We seek to develop relational authenticity by sharing perspectives and feelings in a candid and open way; boosting feelings of competence, confidence, and self-worth; and acting on learning from each other.
We will build meaningful connections that cross dimensions of difference. We move beyond assumptions based on demographic differences by seeking out sources of deep similarity such as common values, beliefs, and experiences.
Common ground will be shared when we meet intentionally and frequently. We agree to prepare carefully for conversations; asking open-ended questions about the other person’s background, interests, goals, and perspectives; and being ready to listen.
The SWU Mentorship program will serve to empower women to advance their voice while gaining additional skills that support personal and professional growth.
